The room temperature alone makes you dizzy and nauseous and that is before you start moving, the humidity is absolutely [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] awful. Then when the actual Hot Yoga class starts you would feel your body heat up even more, and not in a sexy kind of way. That's what I felt at first. I felt my sweat dripping, my heart pounding, the room was spinning then I felt I was falling. That's what happened.
In the middle of our Hot Yoga class I fainted and the next thing I knew I was in the hospital complete [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] with masks on my [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] face and needles poked in my arms and hands, all I can hear were [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] doctors and nurses shouting and asking for more doses of shots then I blacked out again. When I woke up, I had an awful numb feeling and my head felt like it was going [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] to explode. I was not in the hospital's Intensive Care Unit or ICU anymore. I was in a room filled with lovely flowers and a teddy bear that I named Yogi. I remembered thinking to myself: "Wasn't I just in my Hot [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] Yoga class?" The doctor came to my room, gave me some pain killers and [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] explained. I was dehydrated and my body's core temperature reached 40 degrees Celsius when the normal would be 36 degrees to 37 [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] degrees Celsius. My central nervous system became impaired and it could no longer tell my system to cool itself. My nerves became paralyzed and my brain could no longer send signals or instructions to my body. He added that if they were late by 5 minutes I would have been dead. With what I can remember what I felt like in that class, I think I would have been better off dead, but thank god I am alive. He added that this is a common mistake of people who join Hot Yoga classes. They think everything is really easy but to be honest, there are a lot of risks in taking up or joining Hot Yoga classes. Hot Yoga enthusiasts are unaware and they need to be informed.
Those words hit me. I was a Hot Yoga enthusiast and I have been doing Hot Yoga for months and this was [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] the first time this ever happened. I thought I knew everything about Hot Yoga but [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] turns out I was wrong. That mistake almost caused me my life!
After that incident I go class to class in different Hot Yoga studios telling them of how truly great Hot Yoga is but how great the dangers that are involved in it as well. I am glad that in one way or another I was able to help others who love Hot Yoga as much as I do.
